Effective foundation protection

The foundation is the supporting part of a building, which is used to redistribute the load from the supporting structure of the building to the ground of its foundation. The design, material and depth on which the foundation is laid depend mainly on the type of load acting on the foundation, on the structural features of the building and on its capitality, for example, on the presence of the basement in its design, the foundations, certain structures adjacent to it, from a number of geological conditions of the construction site – from the depth of soil freezing, ending with the level of groundwater.

Typically, the cost of building a foundation is about 15 percent of the total cost of building a house. Repair of an incorrectly made foundation is made very difficult, and the cost of such work sometimes reaches half the cost of building the whole house, in the case when the building itself has not suffered significant damage. Therefore, it is worthwhile to approach the choice of the foundation responsibly.

The foundation can be made of ready-made concrete or reinforced concrete parts, and maybe from solid concrete, or from combinations of all these materials.
Choosing a certain type of foundation, you need to pay special attention to the analysis and calculation of the forces acting on the foundation. For example, the groundwater levels and the depth of frost penetration, the load levels from the house, the type of soil — all of the above may affect subsequent construction work. If there is a basement or basement, it is necessary to pay attention to the quality of the materials used in the work and the quality with which the work itself was performed.

Basement insulation is a real need, which cannot be neglected in any way. The loss of heat during the passage through the underground part of the house can be about 20 percent of the total heat loss. If the thermal insulation system is modified, this will reduce the unjustified loss of heat in heated basements. In basements that are not heated, it is possible throughout the year to maintain an acceptable temperature level of about 6-10 degrees, and completely eliminate the possibility of condensation, dampness, mold on the surfaces of the room.

One of the main factors affecting the operational life of a building is water exposure. Moisture can penetrate building structures and destroy concrete. In addition, water brings with it various aggressive substances, and they accelerate the formation of corrosion. If the water entering the structure freezes, concrete may be destroyed due to this. Among other things, the water in the room can disrupt the operation of the building. All this often leads to the destruction of the building.

But it is possible to reduce the cost of building repair, if you use the latest high-tech waterproofing and heat-insulating protective materials while building a building. Currently, the market of finishing materials is replete with similar products, among them you can choose the one that is more suitable for specific purposes, building characteristics, climate features and certain price categories.
